Wine
Brown Brothers Patricia Pinot Noir Chardonnay Brut is grown high on the Whitlands Plateau at the top end of the King Valley. The altitude and climate retain the fruit's acidity: essential for sparkling wine.
It is typically 70% Pinot Noir and 30% Chardonnay. The fruit is sent to Brown Brothers small scale Kindergarten winery and gently whole bunch pressed for fermentation.
In strict adherence to the traditional French method of producing sparkling wine, the second ferment occurs in bottle to create a natural effervescence. The process is deliberately extended to produce a delicate bead.
The wine spends up to six years on yeast lees to develop complexity. Once the lees are removed, it is topped up with liqueur prior to release.
Pale straw, Brown Brothers Patricia Pinot Noir Chardonnay Brut has citrus and green apple flavours, creamy toasty lees notes and crisp acidity. Cellaring potential is four years from release.
